MORE INFORMATION COMING SOON ABOUT OUR EFFORTS WITH NATIVE STEELHEAD TROUT IN WHALE ROCK RESERVOIR ON OLD CREEK
For 23 years, CCSE raised and released up to 140,000 Chinook salmon at Avila Bay. Juvenile King salmon were acclimated and released into the ocean. This process moved the fish up the predator chain, giving them a better chance of survival to adulthood, and enhancing the populations available to recreational and commercial fishermen. This program has been discontinued. Currently we are exploring new possibilities, such as moving our pens to Whale Rock reservoir and raising native Steelhead trout.
